for women, by women.

I started Handyma’am Goods in 2014 when I found myself underwhelmed with the selection of well-made, durable clothing for women in the marketplace. A hair stylist-turned-creative director (with no design background) may seem an unlikely candidate to create technical silhouettes, but I did it anyway. I believe if you put in the work, you can learn — and do — anything.

I started the brand not because I am a master carpenter, but because I love working with my hands, appreciate good craftsmanship, and wanted clothes that fit my can’t-sit-still lifestyle. Along the way, the support of my wildly talented friends and ever-growing community of ma’ams has shaped the way Handyma’am evolved.

quality for the working woman.

Handyma’am’s goals was to create new classics with modern ingenuity. All of our products were designed with function in mind, which in today’s world, means closing the gap between workwear and womenswear. A lot of time went into developing each of our products — choosing fabrics, nailing down fit, and ensuring maximum mobility while still offering a sleek and flattering shape. Whether you are a master welder or a hobby farmer, we put in the time to ensure these will be pieces you’ll have — and love — year after year.

We worked with companies who value quality and construction as much as we do. All of our products were manufactured in the USA at facilities that provide good working conditions, and pay their employees a living wage. Keeping ur production close to home allows us to maintain an intimate relationship with our factories, which increases accountability and help both business grow together through collaboration and close communication.

Creative Direction

As the brand grew, Bella continued to manage all aspects of the business including marketing strategy, product design, sourcing, P&L management, shipping, manufacturing, and event planning. She produced and styled all studio and editorial content and developed thousands of customer relationships while growing an engaged community on social media.

The creative direction and ethos behind the brand was inspired by the community of women Bella found herself surrounded by. Hardworking, capable, and multidimensional. The women who don’t fit in a perfect box.

trade school

Trade School was launched in 2021, to provide the same quality and well-made garment that Handyma’am has become known for to the little ones in our lives. We remade our classic silhouettes for children’s sized and introduced vibrant colorways to our classic lineup.

Come for the haircut, stay for the company.

Hungry Heart had the talent and a growing clientele to match. After remodeling their physical space, however, their online visuals fell short of the fresh new look. Bella worked closely with Farrah Fox to make sure the feeling and service you received in the salon was consistent throughout their digital presence. Bella evaluated and advised on their current brand and positioning in order to create guidelines and more coherent imagery for the next chapter of the business.
